Activity 8: White Playdough and Water Colour Paints

I made some white playdough and didn’t have any food dye to colour it so we experimented with painting it. There was some glitter glue stuff left over from making the keyrings in week 1 so that also got added to decorate the playdough. Miss 6 enjoyed the painting and Miss 2 added flowers to her playdough creations.

Activity 9: Rainforest Sensory Box
I bought a couple of these sensory kits from a brand called Happimess. This is the rainforest kit.

I really recommend these sorts of sensory kits, especially if you aren’t confident with making things like this yourself or don’t have the time to. Miss 6 made a beautiful scene in a box and added to it over days. Miss 2 had fun with pouring the rice and playing with the green playdough in the kit. Later Miss 2 and I mixed the green rice with some white rice that we played with in week 1 and added pom poms (not from the kit). This created a whole new level of fun with transferring pom poms into containers and mixing them in the play blender.

Activity 10: Playdough Icecreams and cupcakes
This was another kit that I bought from Etsy and it was totally worth it. The girls had the best time and were really engaged. The kit came with ice-cream cones but I added some mini patty pans so that they could both make things at the same time. I gave the small decorations to Miss 6 to use as I was concerned about choking hazards. Miss 2 was happy using the bigger pieces and sprinkles.

Activity 11: Pom Pom and Feather Craft

When I started this challenge. I ordered a few craft basics such as paper plates, feathers, card and pom poms as well as a huge jar of PVA. Miss 2 was more into this than Miss 6, however Miss 6 enjoyed playing with feathers and pretending that she was a bird.
Activity 12: Botanical Collage (6yo) and sticker collage (2yo)
I found these paper botanical cutouts online and bought a big pack of them. Miss 2 was not interested in the flower collage but she enjoyed sticking stickers on paper plates instead.

Activity 13: Magnetic Tiles, Blocks (2yo) Colouring in Pages (6 yo)
Miss 2 was not so interested in colouring in so I’ve included some pictures of her magnetic tile and block creations that she makes most days, as I figure these are creative too!

Other activities
We attempted to make these flower crowns but I didn’t think it worked out that well.
