Week 1

Activity 1: Playdough and Flower Creations

This activity lasted over two days with some store-bought cheap playdough and flowers from the garden. It encouraged the girls to spend time outside and they were out there for a couple of hours playing and collecting flowers for their creations.

Activity 2: Keyrings

We maybe spent 30 min on this activity and they did look cool when they were finished. The girls both really enjoyed the process.

Activity 3: Potions

These potion Kits are from Little Potion Co. They are always a hit with the girls.

This activity lasted a good couple of days. After the initial fun of mixing, stirring, pouring and fizzing, they created different colours and textures and put them back into the potion bottles that the ingredients came in. These are always so much fun.

Activity 4: Cardboard Robots

This idea came from Miss 6 who made the three headed robot. Miss 2 enjoyed covering hers with stickers which I thought was a good fine motor activity.

Activity 5: Hama Beads (6yo) and paint sticks (2yo)

Hama beads were a really fun and lovely activity for Miss 6 on a weekend and Miss 2 loved drawing with paint sticks.

Activity 6: Water Colour Paints

I have found these sorts of paints to be so great. They last ages, aren’t messy and can be used in lots of situations. The pictures are from an adult water colour book. The girls really enjoyed colouring them in and experimenting with the paints and water.

Activity 7: Drawing and Building

Drawing and building are quite common activities and I haven’t included photos of every building and drawing from the week. However since these are creative activities too, I’ve put this as the 7th activity for the week.

Other activities from the week:

Because my 6yo is at school, there are other things that I do at home with my 2yo. This week we did some gluing, ripping and playing with rice but I haven’t included these in the 100 activity list.

Ripping glue and pasting it onto things was fun for E. The rice play didn’t last very long. A loves drawing and improves with it every week.
